Surgipath and Cytology Lab has been in existence since 1993. Founded by Dr. Jennifer Mamby-Alexander to offer specialized medical services to the Jamaican population, with the aim to provide more accurate diagnosis for common ailments; that either often get misdiagnosed in archaic methods or missed.
What We Offer
ThinPrep Liquid Based Pap Smear
We’re proudly the first lab to introduce this service to Jamaica, back in 1993. This method of Papanicolaou (Pap) smear produces more accurate results.
Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy
FNAB is a biopsy performed by using a fine needle inserted into a lump of lesion in the body. It allows for effective diagnosis of diseases, such as cancers, of the thyroid, salivary gland, breast, lymph nodes, liver, pancreas, etc.
Histology
Pathological review of anything that is removed from a body, to understand an occurrence such as illness.
